Introduction of 728

728A in combination with Hardener 728B is a two-component polyurethane adhesive for various film/film and film/metalized filml laminates. This product has good flexibility and good transparency, can effectively reduce the characteristics of aluminum transfer and prevent the phenomenon of tunnel.

Properties

1. Preparation of Adhesive Mixture: After having added the right quantity of solvent to 728A and having achieved the required solids 728B has to be stirred into the 8728A/solvent mixture.

2. List of dilution: When the ethyl acetate is used for dilution, to obtain an accurate solid content, it is required to refer to the following solvents.

* Viscosity is based on the average viscosity of the Ford cup 4mm/20°C

3. Pot life: The ready-for-use adhesive in closed containers has a working time of about 8 hours. The composite machine is not used up of adhesive, the retention time of more than 2 hours, if more than 2 hours should be abandoned, otherwise it may lead to unstable composite films.

Tropical area (Temperature >28°C + humidity >60%) pot life: Mixed adhesive should be used up within 2 hours.

4. Coating: 728 adhesive is suitable for dry composite device with smooth light roller or concave roller. Before mass production, repeated trials should be carried out to determine the fit of the wire roller.

5. Pressure adjustment: Appropriate increase in composite temperature and compound roll pressure can improve the bonding effect and surface finish of the composite.

6. Curing: Storage at higher temperatures (40°C-50°C) room, various film/film and film/foil laminates can cutting in 24 hours. Such as curing bag processing should be appropriate to extend the curing time.

7. Film properties: The completely cured 8711 polyurethane film is transparent, odorless, elastic and resistant.

8. Matters needing attention: As the adhesive contains polyisocyanates any contact with skin has to be removed.

9. Others: Film additives-particularly slip agent content in LDPE,MDPE and CPP films-packed goods, printing inks, pre-treatment and coating of films are of significant importance to the end use of the laminates and may affect the performance properties either straight away or later. Therefore, practical laminating tests as well as checks on the laminates are necessary before going into full scale production.

Introduction of 720
720A in combination with Hardener 720B is a two-component polyurerurethane adhesive for various film/film and film/foil laminates.
The product has the characteristics of high initial adhesion, high peeling strength, good transparency, and can effectively prevent the phenomenon of the tunnel.

Properties

1. List of dilution: When the ethyl acetate is used for dilution, to obtain an accurate solid content, it is required to refer to the following solvents

* Viscosity is based on the average viscosity of the Zahn cup 3#/25°C

2. Pot life: The ready-for-use adhesive in closed containers has a working time of about 8 hours. The composite machine is not used up of adhesive, the retention time of more than 2 hours, if more than 2 hours should be abandoned, otherwise it may lead to unstable composite films.
Tropical area (Temperature >28°C + humidity >60%) pot life: Mixed good adhesive should be used up within 2 hours.

3. Application weight: Depending on the film or foil combination and the end use of the laminate, the adhesive weight may above 1.8g/m2 dry. For printed laminates the weight has to be adjusted accordingly.

1. Mixture ratio
The standard mass ratio of A: B=100:90, according to the product performance, ink, packaging materials, and the operation conditions of fine-tuning.
 
2. Hybrid method
The A component and B component set percentage points, through the automatic mixing machine mixing, mixing after use.
 
3. Coating Amount 
It accords to compositing situation between plastic file and aluminum foil, and the final purpose of the film. Coating Amount of adhesive could be managed within 0.9-2.0g/m2 (dry adhesive).Coating Amount should be adjusted accordingly for printed film.

4. Pot Life
823 adhesive component A and B mixture of 40 ℃ to operation time more than 30 minutes, with excellent operability.
 
5. Storage and delivery
Storage: Refrigerated Storage is recommended. Avoid direct sunlight and high temperature. Sealed adhesive should be stored in original container in the temperature of -30℃ to 30℃ for 9 months. Once opened, it should be covering sealed after using, and rest of adhesive should be finished within short time.

7. Caution:
For safety consideration, coating system should be installed exhaust cover. Before producing, test isocyanate content in the air to check exhaust efficiency. Isocyanate handing rules should comply with International Isocyanate Association. Please refer to local safety rules and MSDS.

Introduction of Weeton 823A/828B

Weeton^TM823A/828B is a two-component solvent-free polyurethane adhesive for various film/film, film/metalized film and film /foil laminates, widely used in the packaging of food, medicine, daily use chemical, industrial packages. It has low viscosity, good wettability, long pot life, high peeling strength and high laminating speed (450m/min).

Typical applicable structure is as follows+:

• OPP (PET) / met.CPP
• BOPP / met. CPP (met. PET) / PE
• OPP (PET) / CPP(PE)
• Nylon / LLDPE(CPP)
• PET (OPP) / PE(CPP)

+: Film should get appropriate surface tension by corona treatment.

I. Typical Characteristics

* Mass ratio changes from 100 :50 to 100 : 60 depending on the humidity and films.

II. Directions for use

1. Mixing Ratio: Standard mass ratio of 823A:828B is 100:60. Adjust the ratio according to product properties, printing inks, raw materials, production conditions.

2. Coating: 823A/828B is applied on special laminating machines with multi roller application system.

3. Coating Weight: Depending on the film or foil combination and the end use of the laminate, the adhesive weight may range from 0.9–2.5 g/m² (dry). For printed laminates the weight has to be adjusted accordingly.

4. Dosing: The adhesive is continuously added in the gap of the application station with a two-component dosing and mixing unit. The amount of adhesive in the gap should be kept at the lowest possible level.

5. Pot Life: The pot life of mixed 823A/828B at 40°C is 40min. The viscosity of 823A/828B mixing at 40°C vs. time are shown in fig.1.

6. Laminating conditions: Precise web tension control together with a suitable winding program avoids delaminations as well as telescoping and curling effects.

7. Cleaning: In case of a machine stop (for more than 30 minutes) the coating unit has to be cleaned with solvents/plasticizer-mixture and the 2 component dosing unit has to be washed. The same cleaning procedure has to follow at the end of the run.

8. Curing: The laminates may be rewound and slit after 1-2 days at 35-45°C. Manufacture of triplex laminates is possible 2 hours after duplex production. Complete curing will be achieved after 24 hours at 25-45°C or 3-5 days at room temperature

1. Storage: 823A/828B have a storage life of 9 months a room temperature when stored in the original unopened containers. Opened containers have to be closed immediately and the material should be consumed within a short period.

VII. Notes

When using HT 823A and HT 828B an efficient exhaust hood has to be installed to the coating unit due to safety reasons. The exhaust efficiency has to be checked prior to production by gas analysis for isocyanate concentration in the air. Safety regulations with regard to handling of isocyanates have to be followed as per the guide line issued by the International Isocyanates Institute. VIII. Other information

Film additives-particularly the types and content of slip agent, film thickness, packed goods, printing inks, pre-treatment and film coating are of significant importance to the end use of the laminates and may affect the performance properties either directly or indirectly.

Laminates of high slip containing films, EVA films, CPA films and white pigmented PE films bear the risk of migration of monomeric MDI. This can cause negative influences on the filling good and may lead to antiseal effects. Therefore, practical laminating tests as well as proper checks on the laminates are necessary before going into full scale production.

Introduction of 728A/B
     Weeton^TM728 is a two-component PU adhesive for various film/film and film/metalized film laminates. This product has good flexibility and good transparency and can effectively reduce the phenomenon of aluminum transfer.

• Properties

• Directions for Use

• Dilution: Suitable solvent is ethyl acetate, acetone and MEK provided that water content does not exceed 300 ppm. Do not use aromatic or alcoholic solvent.
• Preparation of Adhesive Mixture: After having added the right quantity of solvent to 728A and having achieved the required solid content, stir 728B into the 728A/solvent mixture.
• List of dilution:

* Viscosity is based on the average viscosity of the Zahn Cup 3# (25°C)

• Pot life: The ready-for-use adhesive in sealed containers has a working time of about 8 hours. The adhesive should be used up within 4 hours in the laminator. Otherwise, the adhesive should be abandoned, or it may result in unstable laminated film.

Tropical area (Temperature >28°C + humidity >60%) pot life: Ready-for-use adhesive should be used up within 2 hours.

• Coating: 728 is suitable for dry lamination with smooth roller or gravure roller. Before mass production, repeated trials should be carried out to determine fitting roller.
• Coating weight: Depending on the film or foil combination and the end use of the laminates, the adhesive weight may range from 2.5-4.0g/m² (dry). For printed laminates the weight should be adjusted accordingly, it should be approx.0.5-2g higher than for unprinted films.
• Drying: The laminator should have good air volume, wind speed, wind pressure and the appropriate temperature to reduce solvent residue. Temperature setting generally follows gradient principle (55°C-65°C, 65°C-75°C, 70°C-85°C). Adjust the temperature of the oven according to the performance of the laminated products, raw materials, process parameters.
• Pressure adjustment: Appropriate increase in laminating temperature and pressure can improve the bond strength and appearance of the laminates.
• Curing: Stored in curing chamber (40-50°C), the laminates will be ready for slitting in 24h. The curing time should be extended if the laminates are used for bagging.
• Film properties: The completely cured 728 is transparent, odorless, elastic and aging-resistant.
